Professional Scent Coverage & Device Planning Calculator
For hotels, retail spaces, architecture projects, showrooms and workplaces, floor area alone does not determine scenting needs. This free iFume tool considers air volume, independent zones, spatial layout and HVAC status.
Scent Coverage Planner
Plan scenting devices by air volume, independent zones and spatial constraints—not floor area alone.

How the calculation works
- Volume = floor area × ceiling height, calculated separately for every zone.
- Provisional count per eligible zone = round up(volume ÷ 600 m³). This does not override the rated 1,200 m³ device capacity.
- Long/narrow spaces, partitions, connected HVAC ducts and complex floor plans require a placement assessment—not an invented correction factor.

You may cite this tool as an iFume preliminary scent-equipment planning resource. Include the source URL and describe its pilot assumptions; do not present the results as verified engineering measurements.
This is an indicative equipment planning model, not a verified coverage or scent-uniformity guarantee. The 600 m³/device comfort target is a provisional assumption.
How is a preliminary device count estimated?
Air volume is calculated separately for each independent scenting zone as floor area multiplied by ceiling height. The initial comfort-planning figure of 600 m³ per device is a provisional assumption, not a field-validated coverage promise. The product’s rated maximum volume of 1,200 m³ is a distinct technical value.
Why do separate rooms matter?
An unobstructed 400 m² space with a 3 m ceiling behaves differently from four isolated rooms with the same total volume. Model each independent air zone separately. Long narrow corridors, irregular layouts, partitions and planned HVAC duct distribution warrant professional placement review rather than speculative numerical correction factors.
Intended professional users
Architects, interior designers, facilities teams, project planners and scenting professionals may use this tool for early-stage scoping. Final device quantity, location, scent performance and consumption depend on site conditions.
